Look & Feel
I want to have a a very classical look and feel to all the car shots, both interior and exterior. Dynamic and exciting. And I would love to intercut those sequences with moments from the friends weekend, as if its some kind of video log. I would like to include shots that feel like the friends may have shot its their smartphones, I think that will add a nice realistic but fun portrayal in the film.
I plan on shooting the car in long takes with dramatic angles and vivid highlights that shine along the exterior curves of the Alex. I would like to juxtapose that with high energy shots of the Alex, showcasing its power, and wide shots showcasing the places it goes.. The interior shots will be lit to show off the technological features and slick interior styling.
To showcase the power, we can film a number of shots where the camera vehicle travels in opposite direction to the Alex, increasing the kinetic energy. We should also shoot the Alex traveling faster than the camera car, and the tracking vehicle catching “glimpses” of the Alex as it navigates the terrain during each race.
Cutaways are also great moments to have in our tool belt, to add energy to the edit. We can grab shots of the road whizzing by, trees, highways, and structures, giving editorial a plethora of content and options to enhance the edit. Also moments with our group of friends, them having fun, goofing off or just living large.
